Charleston

Once again we decided to take a road trip for Chase's fall break. A lot of our friends had made the trip to Charleston and told us how nice it had been, so we packed up and hit the road.

Chase and I were a little nervous about the drive, since we are in the middle of potty training little Gavin. But he did great! zero accidents!

As we pulled up to our hotel Gavin noticed all the boats in the water and yelled and yelled to see more boats, this went on for the following 3 days! We think he loves boats :)

His reward for being so good on the drive. Awesome parenting:)

After we settled in, we walked downtown to get some dinner. A local recommended Hyman's Seafood and it was delicious. I got some salmon croquettes and Chase got a cajun shrimp plate. Before they served us our dinner we got to taste boiled peanuts, apparently they are very popular in the south. We didn't care for them very much, they kind of tasted like soggy beans.

The next couple of days we spent looking at beautiful homes, learning a lot about our history and eating absolutely amazing food. We also went to the beach and enjoyed watching dolphins and tiny little crabs everywhere.

My favorite part of the trip was visiting the Magnolia plantation. It was so beautiful and charming. We took a tram ride around the grounds and saw the most beautiful gardens and about five alligators.
