Longest post EVER! Skunks.Lock.Power Steering.Fire

Chase and I have been getting for this move for the last 3 months so that we didn't have a million last minute things to do. We've learned from previous moves... So last night we are doing some final packing and cleaning and we were pretty excited to get everything done and be in bed by 10. And then!!!!!! The worst smell my nose has ever encountered hit. I was in our bedroom and Chase was in the back room when we both walked into our hallway and said WHAT THE HECK IS THIS!!! It smelled like a million tires were burning in our noses. So of course in our typical fashion we start to freak out! Our house is on fire! Something's leaking! The world is coming to end! We are running around looking for whatever is causing this SMELL! We go into our laundry room and the smell is 100,000,000,000 stronger so strong it's burning our freaking eyes!!!! I pick up Mimi (our chihuahua) and almost immediately drop her and yell IT'S HER!!!! Haha not funny at the time. At that moment we figured A SKUNK got her! NOOOOOOOOOO! I have to be in a car with her for 5 hours!!!! Sick! We were up till 11:30 washing her until she smelled normal. LAME!

Ok now onto the lock. Our moving truck came at 10:30 AM so we figured we would be on our way to SoCal by 12. Chase was so fast at packing it was amazing! But we needed a lock for the truck so Chase and Gavin went to target and bought one, they come home and of course it doesn't fit. We all get in the car and drive back just to find out they don't have the one we need! SUPER LAME. Next Home Depot, well they don't have it either! Now we are all frustrated and Gavin needs a nap. As we are driving out of the parking lot the cars power steering goes out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REALLY! REALLY?!?!?! The dealership tells us it'll take 4 hours to fix, we couldn't believe the drama!

Well the car got fixed in about two hours and we were finally ready to leave, finally... We are about 40 min out and what do we see... A HUGE traffic jam and of course a fire. At that point all we could do is laugh. Needless to say it was a very very long day. But we made it and are now relaxing with our families.

I can't wait to write about all the Cities we stop at :)
